Green Little Seven Aliens

Every now and then I would spontaneously narrate stories for my two sons. One night I came up with a story called, Seven Little Green Aliens, I mean, Green Little Seven Aliens*.

"The spaceship malfunctioned and the seven little green aliens had to make an emergency landing in our bathroom."

Then I would pass the baton and ask one of the boys to describe each alien's scientific investigations of sundry items in the bathroom. It was a wonderful little exercise and we eventually turned our impromptu stories into a small family treasure.

*I find it so interesting how children put adjectives in a specific order without learning the grammatical syntax. Then again, it's not just  their ability to learn languages per se; it's their ability to synthesize information from often unstructured and incoherent data.
