That night, I returned to my room and recited all the important lessons I learned.
1. BE SILLY. BE KIND. BE WEIRD.
a. (Hungarian folk dance)
2. Some experiences are not meant to be repeated. Be grateful it happened, but don’t try it again
a. (THE chimney cake)
3. Be honest
a. (I broke a vase at one of the hotels and was honest about it.)
4. Be open-minded, you may learn a thing or two
a. So many to list here.
b. However, some people may not want to talk/interact.
5. Help if your heart says so (I’m still upset about not buying anything from the old lady who reminded me of my own grandmother), but also learn to say no when your heart says no (the beggar who asked for money in Székesfehérvár).
6. Always pack a pair of swimming pants
7. And of course, don’t drive a manual in foreign lands.
